Chigozie Effe, a Nigerian philanthropist, is seeking advice after a woman in Delta State who needs urgent surgery declined blood transfusions because it's against her Jehovah's Witness faith.
"Update. As a JEHOVAH WITNESS, Lydia has bluntly refused to accept blood transfusions. However, she opted for a blood capsule, which didn't go over well with the doctors due to the urgency of the proposed surgery," he wrote on Facebook.
Additionally, doctors at Delta said she needed five pints of blood before the surgery could begin. In this case, we are confused about what to do as doctors at both private hospitals and public hospitals have said that her blood is too low to be treated, and we are running out of supplies. What can we do?"
